Get Smart Stock Alerts up and running in minutes
Install from BigCommerce App Marketplace
The easiest way to install Smart Stock Alerts is directly from the BigCommerce App Marketplace.
- Log in to your BigCommerce store admin panel
- Navigate to Apps → Marketplace
- Search for "Smart Stock Alerts"
- Click "Install" button
- Review and accept the required permissions
- Click "Confirm" to complete the installation
Complete the Onboarding Wizard
After installation, you'll be guided through a quick setup wizard to configure your preferences.
- Application Settings: Configure email sender name, email address, and inventory limits
- Widget Settings: Customize the appearance and text of your notification widget
- Store Fronts: Select which channels to enable the widget on
Configure Email Settings
Set up your email preferences for sending notifications to customers:
- Navigate to Settings → Notification
- Enter your business email address (must be your domain)
- Customize the "From Name" that customers will see
- Configure inventory thresholds for notifications
- Set up email templates for different notification types
Customize Your Widget
Make the notification widget match your store's branding:
- Go to Settings → Widget
- Choose widget position (above/below add to cart button or custom)
- Customize colors to match your theme
- Edit button text and messages in multiple languages
- Use the live preview to see changes in real-time
Enable the Widget on Your Storefront
The widget is automatically installed on your storefront when you complete the onboarding process.
- The widget appears automatically on out-of-stock product pages
- No manual code installation required
- The widget script is optimized for fast loading
- It adapts to your store's theme automatically
Test Your Setup
Verify everything is working correctly:
- Visit an out-of-stock product page on your storefront
- Confirm the notification widget is visible
- Submit a test email address
- Check that you receive a confirmation message
- Verify the notification appears in your dashboard
